Oxford College of Education Wins Prestigious ESOL Teaching Contract

Oxford College of Education is thrilled to announce that we have won a competitive bidding contract from Oxfordshire County Council.

This significant achievement allows us to provide ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) courses to up to 500 Ukrainian guests, Afghan nationals under the ARAP/ACRS schemes, Hong Kong/BNOs, and eligible asylum seekers who have received their status.

Over the next 18 months, we will deliver this crucial education to those residing across Oxfordshire, both in urban and rural settings. The learning from this initiative may be extended to other groups in the future.

We are proud to have met all the bidding criteria, achieving an impressive score of 84 out of 100, securing this highly competitive project.

To facilitate this extensive educational program, Oxford College of Education will utilize Moodle Workplace for our Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring that our students have access to high-quality online courses, including our comprehensive English Language Learning Platform.

The Museum
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known commonly as the Egyptian Museum or Museum of Cairo, in Cairo, Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. Mosque of Sayyidna Al Hussein

One of the most sacred Islamic sites in Egypt, this mosque is the reputed burial place of the head of Hussein, the grandson of Prophet Mohammed. Most of the building dates from about 1870, except for the beautiful 14th-century stucco panels on the minaret. The modern metal sculptures in front are elegant Teflon canopies that expand to cover worshippers during Friday prayers. This is one of the few mosques where non-Muslims can’t enter.

He also worked as a Programme Leader of Postgraduate and Undergraduate Computing programmes at Glyndwr University London for more than six years. He has also been working as a part time Lecturer of Computing at Chester University and also worked as a part time Lecturer of B.Sc. and M.Sc. Computing courses at the University of Derby. Before that Mr Shaikh also worked as an assistant Professor and head of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and even as a Dean of the Faculty of Science Engineering & Technology of University of Science & Technology Chittagong for more than ten years. He was also the Chief Executive Editor of the academic journal of the same University.Besides his teaching position at University, Mr Shaikh has been doing his number five Postgraduate Course M.Sc. in Cyber Security from University of Oxford as a first Bangladeshi, which is one of the best cyber security courses around the globe approved by GCHQ. Mr Shaikh also completed his M.Sc. in Computer Networking from University of Bedfordshire and M.Sc. in Teaching from Glyndwr University and
Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Education (PGCHE) from the same University. He also obtained M.Sc. in Computer Science and B.Sc. (Hons) in Computer Science from Bangladesh.

We are pleased to announce a new and exciting range of progression routes with University of Portsmouth, one of the Guardian University Guide’s top-25 UK Universities.

ATHE learners are now able to progress to a variety of Learning at Work bachelor’s and master’s programmes from the following qualifications:

  • Levels 4-7 Management
  • Levels 4-7 Health and Social Care
  • Levels 4 and 5 Computing qualifications

Learners can apply with Awards, Certificates or other combinations of credits, simply adjusting the number of credits that will need to be completed with the University before the relevant bachelor’s or master’s is achieved.

As we have now entered the New Year, we at Oxford College of Education would like to thank everyone that has helped us get as we far as we have. We gave out certificates to those who helped us out the most which included local councillors, our own staff members, some of the students, bosses of partner companies that have been working alongside for almost a year.

Exam changes in 2018 From September 2018, we are launching the new ACCA Qualification which means that our exam names and levels are changing. This means the Knowledge level will be known as Applied Knowledge, Skills level will become Applied Skills and Professional level will be Strategic Professional. For the March and June exam sessions, we will still be using the existing exam names and levels. However, if you are booking and taking exams for the September exam session, you will be taking exams under the new ACCA Qualification. Following the publication of June exam results, all of your existing exam results and exemptions will be converted to the new Qualification.

It was lovely meeting Vickie Robert, who is representing Oxford College of Education in the Nigerian community here in the UK and in Nigeria. Had the pleasure meeting with Deputy Mayor Cllr Marten Clarke and OBE Cllr Lesley Clarke who attended our meeting in July. During our meeting, we gave a presentation of the College’s aims and values as well as presenting many projects such as the Cyber Security Project for local and international students.
Following from our meeting, Mr Marten Clarke provided suggestions on future opportunities for Oxford College of Education by employing courses to help and teach local Non English and native speakers basic reading and writing skills. These skills will help enable parents to read bedtime stories to their children and help with time management skills. Furthermore, Mrs Lesley Clarke also suggested getting into contact with the local housing and the Univesity to discuss accommodation services for international students, employing catering courses and getting into contact with local councils about our project.

Had the pleasure of meeting with Fr Joe Udoh today to discuss future opportunities for Oxford College of Education. Such as branching our services to local communities and help bring Polish students to the college to learn a variety of courses such as; English, Maths and Business. As well as this, we are currently employing community-based projects to help both adults and children enhance their academic skills.
We have also been introduced to two of Mr Udoh’s Catholic church’s and were made aware of the great services he provides to the community in High Wycombe.
Furthermore from our meeting today, we are pleased to say that Mr Udoh is proud of our achievement of establishing a college in the local area.

We had the honour of welcoming some Chinese delegates to visit our college with the possibility of bringing in some international students from China. After meeting with our director Mr Jashim Uddin, we are now working with them to bring in some students from China.

Here are some Turkish students being taught Functional Skills English at the campus for Oxford College of Education by our director Mr Jashim Uddin. He gave them his best knowledge of the English language to help them improve their English communicational skills.
