1. How can I apply to sit exams at Tutors & Exams?

3. Why do I need to provide a photo and ID?
It is a regulatory requirement that we can identify candidates that sit their exams with us. Your photo will be used on your timetable to allow the centre staff to identify you. Your ID will be kept on file and will be required on the days you sit exams.

5. What if I have no photo ID?
If you do not have photo ID, contact us and we will send you more information on how to proceed with your application.
6. What are the exam deadlines?

Every student has one 13-character code that’s unique to them. It’s used to collect results for each student across time and different exam boards, schools or colleges. All students need a UCI. If you have sat exams recently at another venue, they will have your UCI, or it will appear on your entry and results information from them. You will need your UCI if you are resitting a qualification. We can issue new UCI’s for new learners.
8. What name do I need to use on my form?
You must provide your full name. The name provided will show on the final certificate.
9. Why do you need all this information from me?
All the information requested is required to process your application. The information required is either a compulsory requirement by the exam board, or a legal requirement for payment.
Exam stationery containing all necessary equipment to sit your exam, including stationery, a geometry set and Casio Scientific Calculator in an exam approved transparent pencil case if required are available to purchase in advance or on the day of your exam. The cost of these items can be found Here on our Fees List and must be paid for prior to your exam commencing.
11. What happens during a centre visit?
Centre visits provide candidates with the opportunity to meet centre staff and view exam rooms prior to their first exam. Your entering centre will schedule your visit and send details of the date and time. Centre visits normally take place 2 – 3 months prior to the exam series. Our centre locations page here provide photos of and information about each centre, as well as details of our locations, should you be unable to attend a centre visit.
12. Do you take private candidates?
Yes! Tutors & Exams provides learners, typically those outside of mainstream education, with access to assessment opportunities regardless of age or background at our UK Exam Centres.
13. How do I find out my entry codes?

14. I need to book a speaking test, what do I do?
Please check with your chosen exam centre that they offer the subject and have a tutor available. When you receive confirmation, you can submit an Booking form via the Tutors & Exams website.
15. What are Candidate Record Forms?
The tutor will use this form to authenticate the candidate’s A-level supporting information and prepare for the speaking test. The form is also submitted to the examiner with the recordings, and they will not mark the test without one, therefore it’s crucial to complete the form as instructed.
16. When are the upcoming exam dates?
IGCSE exams are held twice a year, in May/June and October/November. A-Levels, on the other hand, are conducted once a year, specifically in June. It’s important to note that the exact exam dates can vary depending on the awarding body, so students should check with their specific examination board for the precise schedule.

21. When is the registration deadline for the exams?
For IGCSE exams, it’s recommended to book at least 6 months in advance, and for A-Level exams, it’s advisable to book at least 8 months ahead to avoid late fees.
22. Is it necessary to take A-Level practical exams?
You can complete the new science A-levels without doing any practical work, but this means your certificate won’t include the ‘Practical Endorsement.
Most universities will require this endorsement if you plan to pursue a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subject at the university.

23. How can I fulfill the practical component of the exam?
All science A-Levels offer an optional practical lab-skills pathway, typically required by most universities for students pursuing STEM subjects.
You’ll usually take these practical assessments at the same exam center where you’ve registered for your written exams. However, please note that not all exam centers may offer this pathway, so it’s essential to check availability in your local area.

25. Can I take the courses and exams if I live overseas, and if yes, where?
Yes! One of the main benefits of studying with Oxford College of educationn is you can take your study material anywhere in the world and access it at any time.

26. When will I receive my exam results?
GCSE /IGCSE exam results are typically released 8-10 weeks after the exam date, and A-Level exam results follow the same timeline.
